Surface grinding machines
Over 70 years of presence on the market with cutting-edge production technology.
Founded by Oreste Marchesi and Pietro Ceri, DELTA was established in Pavia in 1955 as a precision metalworking shop, an activity soon abandoned to make way for the production of surface grinders.
At the end of the 1960s, the first reliable and precise tangential surface grinding machines were designed and built, characterized by the use of the 'Mackensen' hydrodynamic spindle, which ensures maximum longevity.
Additionally, the hydrostatic support present on all machine axes eliminates sliding friction (zero wear).
In the first half of the 1980s, DELTA’s range of flat surface grinding machines was enriched with new large-size models featuring high production capacity: the Maxi family with travelling column
Today DELTA offers the widest range of travelling column grinding machines thanks to the Maxi and Mini lines currently produced in 13 models with grindable surfaces from 800x550 mm to 3,000x1,100 mm and the 3 Rotax models with grindable diameters from 500 mm up to 1,200 mm
Always at the forefront, DELTA stands out in the landscape of machine tool manufacturers for its software division, which has been active for over twenty years. DELTA grinding machines are equipped with control software designed and developed entirely in-house to ensure maximum customization and offer the possibility of modifications, adjustments, and non-standard machining cycles.
